UN calls for Bangladesh army probe after Al Jazeera investigation

  • From aljazeera, that's funny.

  • Why's that funny?

    1613957032

  • Nothing personal but I have to guess you've never been in a sketchy situation in the wilderness, huh? Not everyone has and maybe that influences why you see it differently. What I said has nothing to do with assuming risk. And dying doing something you love is what living people say to make themselves feel better. Unless those men all fell and died on impact, which I highly doubt, they suffered greatly. And they sure weren't thinking about dying doing something that they loved. Doesn't work that way.

  • Unreal. When I hear this crap on these kinds of stories I don't know if it's just a lack empathy, a lack of understanding or just people trying to defend their own safe choices in life and defend their weakness. I don't get it though. Whatever.

  • We get it, you're a tough guy. Quit posturing so much, you're gonna strain yourself

  • Al Jazeera's not like totally ideal or anything. I understand the genuine critiques. But it's hard not to watch their coverage and reporting and not weep for what used to be the 4th estate in USA. Think there's a great Frontline on how hard Lowell Bergman had to work to get that shit broadcast in US. Bergman's the guy Pacino played in The Insider- the 60 Minutes producer that told Mike Wallace "There's no fixing what got broken here," after CBS caved to Brown and Williamson and Big Tobacco.

  • I gravitate to Al Jazeera because they seem to be the most reliable in terms of providing both western and non-western news. They have some bias (certainly not as neutral as news organizations like AP News or Reuters), but I would consider them almost neutral when compared to the 24/7 opinion and analysis news of the most popular news networks in the US (ie, CNN, FOX, and MSNBC).
